Client Objective: Review with key stakeholders Iona’s positioning and branding, and create a new, contemporary visual identity that, while unique and aspirational, balances time-honoured traditions with a dynamic and innovative, 21st century learning environment.
Tank idea: TANK looked to retain much of what makes Iona, Iona – the cross of Celtic origins and the deep prestigious blue. The font that we chose to use was created by Eric Gill at around the same time the school was founded; 1914. Using these elements as a foundation, we moved to bring a re-vitalised bronze to the forefront – creating a fresh, more inviting identity, with roots in the past and looking to the future.
Result: An identity and positioning that demonstrates that Iona is a family, where each girl is equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence they will need to embrace the next stage of their lives, and where friendships are forged - for life.
